Thermal spraying

Thermal Spraying is a coating process through which a powder or wire coating material is applied to the component surface with high thermal energy and particle velocity.

There are a number of different spray technologies including Plasma, Flame, Twin Wire Arc, and HVOF systems that are used to apply a broad selection of materials.   Metals, Ceramics, Cermets, etc. are routinely applied as singular components or as a base matrix to strengthen or carry polymers used in functional coatings.  Layer thicknesses range from approximately 30µm to several millimeters.

Impreglon specializes in the use of Thermal Spraying for wear-resistant combination coatings where an extreme surface hardness is to be combined with polymers to provide non-stick, lubricity or enhanced corrosion protection.
